Is Mel C trying to stop the Spice Girls reunion?

By Fabio Crispim

Last month we reported that Emma Bunton, Mel B and Geri Horner were all planning to reunite the Spice Girls under a trio called ‘GEM’.

The Huffington Post reports that Mel C has been threatening legal action over the trio’s plans.

A source said, “Mel [C] has told the other girls she is consulting lawyers about whether the reunion can go ahead without her.”

“She believes she brought music credibility to the group and there is no Spice Girls without her. The other girls are in regular text and phone contact with her.”

They also said the girls wanted to use the new name ‘GEM’ but have decided against it because “the strength is through the Spice brand.”

Horner and Bunton have remained quiet about the reunion plans but Mel B revealed the girls had been in the studio and insists that they were “always going to be Spice Girls” and that they’re “definitely going to be doing some concerts.”
