star Idina Menzel has revealed that a sequel to the hit animated film is “in the works.”

Despite the success of Frozen, Disney said in April that it has yet to discuss a sequel – and is currently focusing on the Broadway adaptation of the smash hit film instead.

Now, Menzel – who voiced Queen Elsa in the critically acclaimed film – has confirmed in a new interview that a follow up is definitely happening.

“They’re all in the works,” the broadway star told The Telegraph.

When questioned about whether she will star in both projects, she replied: “Not the stage show – I don’t know what will happen with that – but the movie hopefully. We’ll see. I’m just going along for the ride.”

Frozen’s worldwide popularity saw it become the highest-grossing animated movie of all time, and it also scooped the Best Animated Feature prize at this year’s Oscars.

Meanwhile, an animated short following on from the events of Frozen is set to debut later this year – find out more here.
