Iain Lee says coming out as bisexual ‘took off a huge weight’.

The radio presenter and I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here star split from his wife Helena earlier this year and this month, he came out as bisexual.

Today (July 31), Lee returned to Good Morning Britain and opened up about his sexuality and said the responses has been brilliant.

He said: “I came out as bisexual and now I’ve said it on TV so it must be real.

“I had a really horrible year and a really nasty car crash that messed me up.

“So, I was seeing a therapist to talk through that and then as we were talking about that we kind of latched onto some abuse that I had as a young man, and then we worked out why I used to take drugs.

“It turns out probably a lot of the anxiety and depression and drug-taking was around not being true to who I am.

“So, I came out and everyone went, ‘Oh well’.

“It’s lifted a huge weight. It took off a huge weight and nearly everybody has been brilliant.

“It’s not a big thing, it’s not like I’m going to go round and start queening up and going out with lots of guys and stuff like that, that’s not what it’s about.

“But it’s about saying I’ve done this stuff in the past I’ve had a lot of shame around, and actually I don’t need to be ashamed about it. I’m in a great place.”
