‘I Am Cait’ pulled from broadcast in Africa following complaints

By Fabio Crispim

Caitlyn Jenner’s I Am Cait documentary TV show has been pulled by African broadcaster MultiChoice over complaints from viewers, the BBC reports.

MultiChoice, who broadcasts to the whole continent, have said that they will be dropping the show in order to “respect customers’ views and Africa’s diverse regulatory environments.”

The documentary follows Jenner through her transition, but Nigerian authorities reportedly wanted the show pulled because the show contains “ideas” that they didn’t want people “to be exposed to.”

Parents from Nigeria also complained that the show “wasn’t good” for their children to watch.

In a statement, MultiChoice have said:

“MultiChoice recognizes the importance of respecting the views of a number of its customers and all regulatory environments within which its service operates.

After careful consideration, MultiChoice would like to inform its valued subscribers that the show will no longer air on the channel across our platforms.”

The show is currently in its second season but there’s bad news on the horizon: the ratings have dropped significantly and I Am Cait could be on the verge of cancellation according to Gay Star News.
