How can I make more LGBT friends?

In the age of app-based hook-ups, forging friendships with other LGBT people can be especially tricky, especially for those not in the big city with a local gay bar nearby. So what’s the best way to go about finding the BFFs who’ll help you navigate gay life in 2016.
Luckily, some of the YouTube stars heading to National Student Pride next week (February 6) are here with some advice for anyone struggling to find like-minded gay friends.
British YouTube personality Claum McSwiggan has joined married vlogger Shosana and Meredith to offer their tips for LGBT friendship, before heading up a special YouTuber panel next Saturday’s annual student extravaganza at the University of Westminster’s Marylebone campus.
National Student Pride hopes to use 2016’s event to celebrate the power of online voices in providing a outlet for young LGBT people. As Jamie Raines – the trans YouTuber who documented his transition with a selfie a day and will also be on the panel – puts it: “Most importantly, I think it shows that there are other people going through similar experiences to you, and gives people a way to relate to YouTubers in a way they may not be able to relate to others.”
Calum McSwiggan with heading up the panel, which will focus on mental health and feature other familiar faces in the form of Meredith and Shoshana, Mawaaan Rizman, and Riyad K.
