‘Grey’s Anatomy’ casts first ever gay male surgeon

Alex Landi has landed the role as Dr Nico Kim and will debut in season 15 this month

Grey’s Anatomy is getting its first gay male surgeon.

The hit medical drama – which has been running for 15 seasons – has seen a number of LGBT characters throughout its run but for the first time ever in the shows history there will be a gay male character introduced.

Alex Landi is set to join the ABC drama in a recurring role as Dr Nico Kim in season 15 – which kicks off with a two-hour premiere on September 27, according to TVLine.

The half-Korean-half-Italian actor has starred in a number of TV shows including Bull, Childlike and will be seen in the film Broken Land.

From what we have seen on Landi’s Instagram account, we hope he will take his top off throughout the season.
