In a new interview, Jones said that she was brought to tears when she read some of the “thousands” of tweets trans men and women had sent her following the airing of the emotional episode.

“I had thousands of tweets from people. I was crying,” she told People. “Members of the transgender community were saying, ‘I never thought I’d see myself on TV. You have no idea what this means to me. Now, maybe people will get it.'”
