Gay sex scenes on top in poll of film viewers

The results of a poll to find Britain’s favourite movie sex scene has seen two two gay romps chart in the Top 3.

Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman’s steamy session in Black Swan was the overall winner among the sample of 2,124 British adults questioned by VouchersCodePro.

The 2010 film previously bagged the actresses a nomination for Best Kiss at the MTV Movie Awards and Choice Movie: Liplock at the Teen Choice Awards. They were also showered with individual acting gongs, with Portman memorably scooping the Best Actress Oscar over Annette Benning, Nicole Kidman, Michelle Williams and then-newbie Jennifer Lawrence.

Jack Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger’s passionate scene in Brokeback Mountain, meanwhile, finished in third place, behind Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling in The Notebook. Ang Lee’s 2005 awards season hit was a big game-changer upon its release, with Mark Wahlberg admitting he turned down a leading role because he was “a little creeped out” by its gay theme.

Spokesperson George Charles said he was “surprised” to see Black Swan on top, and added: “Films play such a huge part in the lives of Britons and it seems that certain sex scenes do too.”

The remainder of the Top 10 ranged from Fatal Attraction to Twilight, with the Top 5 completed by Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet in Titanic (4th) to Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson in Fifty Shades of Grey (5th).

Richard Gere and Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman polled sixth, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in Twilight came (!) seventh and Michael Douglas and Glenn Close’s liason in Fatal Attraction was voted in eighth place. Secretary‘s James Spader and Maggie Gyllenhaal and Dirty Dancing‘s Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey completed the list in ninth and tenth place respectively.
