‘Family Guy’ will finally address a major character’s sexuality

Family Guy will finally address Stewie Griffin’s sexuality.
The hit US comedy show has frequently teased that youngest member of the Griffin family is gay over the course of its 15 seasons, but now the show is set to get explicit about the one-year-old baby’s romantic inclinations.
Stewie will finally open up about his sexuality in an upcoming episode set to air next month. According to IBTimes, the character will visit a therapist where he will finally be questioned about his sexuality.
Sir Ian McKellen will guest-star in the special episode as Stewie’s therapist, while show creator Seth MacFarlane will voice the popular baby character.
Executive producer Rich Appel revealed that Stewie’s sexuality is one of the topics the episode will touch on and added that it’s “the tip of the iceberg”.
“It’s just a two-character episode with Stewie in his therapist’s office for the first time. It’s a wonderful episode, and Seth’s performance is spectacular,” he said.
“They delve into all sorts of things you would come up in a therapy session with a boy like Stewie. When Stewie’s with his therapist, they pretty immediately address questions of sexuality. The episode covers that, and then goes to deeper issues for Stewie.”
The episode, titled ‘Send in Stewie, Please”, will air with limited ad interruptions on March 11, 2018, on FOX after the show returns from a hiatus.
Seth MacFarlane previously discussed Stewie’s sexuality in a 2009 interview with Playboy, revealing he had planned an episode in which Stewie came out. However, show bosses later decided to scrap the episode and keep Stewie’s sexuality “vague”.
Four years later, MacFarlane announced in a tweet that the show had still not decided whether Stewie is gay or not.
