Ellie Goulding, Lena Dunham to star in new Taylor Swift video

By Will Stroude

Taylor Swift has unveiled the all-star, all-female cast who will appear in the video for her new single Bad Blood – and if we were Katy Perry, we’d be looking over our shoulder before hitting the red carpet anytime soon.

Ellie Goulding and Girls star Lena Dunham are among the incredible line-up of celebrity friends which Swifty has roped in for the video accompaniment to Bad Blood, which sees the girls channel gritty, Sin City-inspired alter egos.

The track, which the 25-year-old wrote after suffering a fallout with a fellow female pop star – widely believed to the be Katy Perry – is the fourth single to be lifted from her massive fifth studio album 1989, which has already spawned three UK Top 40 hits in the form of Shake It OutBlank Space and Style.

Taking to Twitter to tease the video’s release, Swift also revealed that each of her friends had picked their own character’s name and persona. Swift herself is set to star as ‘Catastrophe’, while Goulding, Dunham and Paramore’s Hayley Williams will play the roles of ‘Destructa X’, ‘Lucky Fiori’ and ‘The Crimson Curse’ respectively.

The video will also feature hip-hop star Kendrick Lamar as ‘Welvin Da Great’, upcoming singer and actress Zendaya as ‘Cut-Throat’, American fashion models Gigi Hadid and Lily Aldridge as ‘Slay Z’ and ‘Fostbyte’, and Pitch Perfect 2 star Hailee Steinfeld as ‘The Trinity’.

The full video will debut this Sunday (May 17) at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards, and safe to say, we’re firing up the Attitude GIF-maker already…
