A sequel to Enchanted is now in the works at Disney.

Enchanted, a live-action musical film starring Amy Adams, was released in 2007 and became a big hit at the box office, taking over $370 million (£216 million) worldwide.

Adams, who played a Disney Princess who accidentally found herself stuck in real-life New York, was joined by an impressive supporting cast that included Idina Menzel, James Marsden, Susan Sarandon and Patrick Dempsey.

According to Deadline, the sequel will be directed by Anne Fletcher (The Proposal 2) with Shrek 2 writers J David Stem and David N Weiss set to pen the script.

At present, Disney are keeping tight-lipped on whether any of the original cast will return for the sequel. The release date for Enchanted 2 has also yet to be confirmed.
