Debbie Harry says Donald Trump ‘was not interested in me at all’ when they met

We're... confused.

By Jamie Tabberer

Debbie Harry has said Donald Trump was “kind of not interested in me” when they met – and we don’t know what to make of it.

Side note: what we wouldn’t give to meet the Blondie icon…

The star recalled meeting the now-US President at a promotional event for The Celebrity Apprentice in 2013. (Simpler times, eh?)

“He likes tall women. He likes big women”

Speaking to PA, the Heart of Glass singer said (as per Metro): “I actually met [Trump] extremely briefly. He was kind of not interested in me at all.”

The star – who will tour the UK with Blondie in 2021 – added: “I’m not tall enough. He likes tall women. He likes big women.”

If of interest, Trump’s wife Melania is 1.8m, while Debbie is 1.6m.

The music icon, also known for hits like Hanging On the Telephone and Denis, also reflected on Trump’s presidency in the interview before calling him “racist”.

“It seems to be very two-sided. There seems to be the pro-Trumps and the anti-Trumps,” she said.

“Of course, I don’t really agree with the things he believes in or refuses to acknowledge. I think we are suffering from his lack of acknowledgement of the seriousness and the desperation of the people.

“And the fact that he is a racist is unacceptable.”

Republican leader Trump goes head to head with Democrat Joe Biden in the US election on 3 November.
