Dave Franco’s character in Neighbours 2 is gay

By Fabio Crispim

In the 2014 comedy, Neighbours, Pete (Dave Franco) was a stereotypical frat bro. But in the film’s sequel, Neighbours 2: Sorority Rising, he’s in a relationship with another man and on the verge of getting married.

Speaking to Yahoo News at CinemaCon, Dave Franco said that he’s “so excited.”

“Even though I’m not on screen for a significant amount of time, hopefully it will be very memorable. And of course I was excited to try something new while still maintaining his essence.”

The film sees Mac (Seth Rogen) and his wife join forces with Teddy (Zac Efron) as they work together to battle the sorority sisters who have moved in next door.

Seth Rogen recently admitted that he regrets using homophobic jokes in his past films.

Neighbours 2: Sorority Rising premiers May 6.
