By Will Stroude

Coronation Street

‘s Bruno Langley is swapping the cobbles for the charts with the release the of a brand new single and four-track EP.

The 33-year-old made history by sharing the ITV soap’s first gay kiss with Nick Platt (Adam Rickett) – who also enough released music after a stint on the show – and now has a new music video to accompany his debut solo single ‘Jump’.

Langley has often juggled music with his acting career, having formed a band in 2010 and performing regularly over the years, but is not attempting to crack the charts as a solo artist.

Speaking about his foray into music he said: “As an actor I play a character who is never far away from the dark side of life, so music is a complete release from that role.”

‘Jump’ was written by his sister Gita, while the rest of the tracks on the EP of the same name are written by Bruno himself, according to The Sun.

Fans of Todd Grimshaw needn’t panic, however – Bruno insists that he will continue with the soap alongside his music career,

“I am not leaving Weatherfield, Todd will be around on the cobbles for the foreseeable future,” he reassured fans. “However music has always been a passion of mine, and I am thrilled to be releasing my first EP, it has been about thirty years in the making!”.
