Céline Dion announces new album and first North American tour in 10 years

The 'Ashes' singer will be releasing the new album later this year

Céline Dion has announced a new album is on the way as well as a North American tour.

The iconic ‘My Heart Will Go On’ singer – who will be headlining this year’s British Summer Time Festival – revealed during her performance at The Theatre at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles this week that she will be embarking on her first tour in more than 10 years and plans on releasing an album later this year.

She said: “I’m so grateful to all the fans who have come to see my show in Las Vegas for so many years.

“And now I get the chance to create a brand new show and bring it to them in North America, and around the world.”

She also went on to say that hse was ‘very excited about this tour and [her] new album… coming later this year’.

While speaking to USA Today, the singer – who collaborated with Sia on her new album – said: “I like to sing these songs, and incorporate a few new songs. I would like this to be the most spectacular tour.

“The thing I can say right now, we’re still in the process of putting it together, is that it’s not going to be the Las Vegas show. 

“The biggest news today, is I will be driving the bus on tour.”

Céline also took to Instagram to reveal the tour dates for her North American tour and wrote: “For the first time in over a decade, Celine Dion will tour North America.

“Tickets go on sale Friday, April 12. Team Celine presale starts Monday, April 8.
