Boy George and Paloma Faith to join The Voice UK as judges

By Attitude Magazine

The highly-anticipated fifth season of The Voice UK will feature two brand new judges, alongside some familiar faces who will compete to uncover the next big thing in British pop.

Our interest was piqued in the Attitude HQ office when BBC One reported today the first of the new judges will be Boy George, the Culture Club sensation who has sold some 50 million albums, 100 million singles and racked up top 10 hits in just about every country around the globe.

“I’m thrilled and excited to be a judge on The Voice UK I’m a huge fan of the show and have watched and engaged with it from series one,” Boy George said.

“If I can help someone to win I will be delighted. I can’t wait to sit in that chair!”

Also confirming speculation of her new judging role is British chart-topper Paloma Faith who first hit airwaves back in 2009 with her debut album Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful?

The 34-year-old featured on last season’s Live Finals of The Voice UK and has spent the greater part of the last six years scooping up accolades at the Brit Awards while belting out the hits, from Stone Cold Sober and Only Love Can Hurt Like This.

“I’m really excited about working with creative people who are there not just to be great singers, but also innovative personalities and performers,” said Faith.

“I have a long history of helping break artists as in my club nights I booked Kate Nash, Adele, and The Noisettes before they hit the big time, and four of my band members have gone on to pursue successful solo careers.

“I’m really looking forward to getting my teeth into something that cultivates the talents of another person and takes the focus off myself for a bit!”

Joining Boy George and Paloma Faith on The Voice UK are returning judges will.i.am and Ricky Wilson, alongside presenters Emma Willis and Marvin Humes.

The announcement follows Sir Tom Jones getting the chop by producers, and Rita Ora stepping over to work as a judge on The X Factor.

Series 5 of The Voice UK will launch on BBC One in January 2016.
