American Horror Story season 6 premiere date revealed

It’s summer 2016 and that can only mean one thing: American Horror Story will be returning to our screens soon.

According to EW, the sixth instalment of Ryan Murphy’s hit horror anthology show will be premiering a little earlier than usual, with a September 14 date now set.

The show also unveiled their new hellish logo that features a hybrid of the number 6 and a question mark. Details of the new season have been kept under wraps and no theme or plot has been officially announced.

However, one thing that Murphy, who recently produced a tribute video to the victims of Orlando, has revealed, is that children are key to the series as a whole.

“If you look at horror tropes, the innocence of children, that sort of wide-eyed entryway into some world is always very dramatic and satisfying,” he said.

FX President John Landgraf revealed that the season is “set in two time periods, but principally in the present”.

Lady Gaga, who starred in the fifth season as the Countess, confirmed to New York radio station Z100 that she will be returning although she stated she “can’t promise” how or when.

Murphy also confirmed that Angela Bassett will be returning and play an ‘alcoholic psychic’.

Other stars that have announced their return include Cheyenne Jackson, Evan peters, Finn Wittrock, Matt Bomer, Sarah Paulson and Leslie Jordan. There has been speculation that the season’s new logo could suggest a link to the devil or the Antichrist.
