Every so often, someone will claim that a RuPaul’s Drag Race group performance was “even better than ‘Read U Wrote U’.”
These people are wrong.
While there are a few Drag Race group performance that have provided genuine moments of TV magic – All Stars 3’s ‘Drag Up Your Life’ and Drag Race UK’s frock-destroying ‘Break Up, Bye Bye’ are notable stand-outs – as a game-changing jaw-dropper, All Stars 2’s ‘Read U Wrote U’ remains unmatched.
You’ll be pleased to know the, that the girls responsbily for the jewel in All Stars 2’s already sparkling crown – Alaska, Detox, Katya and Roxxxy Andrews – have reunited via the power of technology to recreate the track.
With Detox using a cartoon avatar while recovering from surgery, all the moments you want (and maybe don’t want) are effortlessly recreated – and the queens’ reaction to Roxxxy’s famously maligned verse (a 45-seconds so wildly unpopular it’s somehow gone full circle and become iconic), is worth its weight in gold.
