Adam Lambert is set to perform with Queen during the Academy Awards.

With awards season in full swing, with the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody continually winning gongs, it makes sense that the new Queen frontman will join his bandmates on stage at the most prestigious film and TV awards show.

Taking to Twitter, the former Attitude cover star wrote: “We will rock The Oscars Feb 24th. 5pm PST. @TheAcademy @QueenWillRock”

Eagle-eyed viewers managed to spot Lambert’s brief cameo in the Queen biopic where Freddie Mercury (Rami Malek) is at a truck stop on Queen’s first-ever North American tour.

He calls then-fiance Mary Austin (played by Lucy Boynton) from a pay phone for a quick check-in while a suitor is waiting for a public restroom hookup in the background who happens to be Lambert.

The Academy also confirmed the news of the Queen performance on social media and posted a video of the band on stage and wrote: “Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? We welcome @QueenWillRock and @adamlambert to this year’s #Oscars!”

Despite controversy around Bohemian Rhapsody’s disgraced director Bryan Singer, leading man Malek has continued to wow audiences with his performance as Mercury.

Malek – who also cover Attitude last year – has so-far won Best Actor at the Golden Globes and Best Leading Man at the BAFTAs this year and looks set to take home the same gong at the Oscars.

The Academy Awards will be held on February 24.
