Dolly Parton devastated fans over the weekend after announcing she must postpone her Las Vegas residency due to health concerns.
The ‘9 to 5’ singer was scheduled to perform six live shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace between 4 and 13 December, but has moved the dates to September 2026.
The country icon shared the news in a statement on Instagram, revealing that Dolly: Live in Las Vegas had to be postponed due to health issues.
“As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges” – Why Dolly Parton is postponing her Las Vegas December Shows
“I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,” the statement read.
“As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must undergo a few procedures. As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up – although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon! In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see.”
The statement continued: “You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you.”
Parton reassured fans she has no plans to retire, insisting she will continue working on projects from her home in Nashville.
“I believe He is telling me to slow down” – Parton on God telling her to slow down coinciding with health concerns
She wrote: “And don’t worry about me quittin’ the business, because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet.” The statement added, “But I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you. I love you and thank you for understanding.”
Fans took to the comment section to send their support. One said, “Who else read this in Dolly’s beautiful southern voice? Get well Dolly!” Another added, “Oh, please be so gentle with yourself. Take all the time you need.”
The performances will now take place nine months later, running from 17 to 26 September 2026, at the same venue, blending Parton’s classics with new material.
According to a statement on the official Dolly Parton website, Dolly: Live in Las Vegas will highlight the star’s biggest hits as well as songs from her 2024 album, Dolly Parton & Family: Smoky Mountain DNA – Family, Faith & Fables.
Her September residency will mark her first extended run in Vegas since 1993. She last hit the road for the 2016 Pure & Simple tour.
