Attitude has partnered with Channel 4 to launch a digital series tied to Russell T Davies‘ new drama Tip Toe, which launched on Channel 4 on 31 May.

Titled Tip Toe or Ta-Da, guests including Danny Beard, Charley Marlow, Jason Patel and Jaxon Feeley unpack the programme’s themes in honest and raw conversations, filmed in the Canal Street bar that serves as the real-world setting in Tip Toe itself.

Writer and creator Davies has described the five-part thriller as his angriest and darkest work yet, while star Alan Cumming – who plays Leo, the owner of a gay bar on Manchester’s Canal Street, opposite David Morrissey as his long-time yet increasingly hostile neighbour Clive – called it “one of the greatest scripts I’ve ever done” in his exclusive cover interview for Attitude Uncut.

The concept of Tip Toe or Ta-Da comes from a powerful monologue in episode one of Tip Toe given by character Melba, who reflects: “I used to walk into a room and just go, ‘ta-da!’. Now I tiptoe, just in case.” We give our guests a selection of statements, and whether they tiptoe or ta-da is entirely up to them…

The series features three pairings:

Charley Marlow and Jaxon Feeley

Comedian and presenter Charley Marlow and trans activist, author and TV personality Jaxon Feeley open the series with a conversation about community, identity and what it means to be visibly queer in 2026. Together they explore how the rhetoric of figures like Andrew Tate is filtering through to young people, why queer spaces still feel essential, and what it means to find home – not always in a place, but in people.

Jason Patel and Dottie Shufflebottom

Unicorns actor Jason Patel and Dottie Shufflebottom – a straight ally who nursed people through the AIDS crisis and helped as a volunteer to establish Manchester Mardi Gras in the 1990s (now Manchester Pride) – span decades of LGBTQ+ history between them. They tackle whether the threat to the community has moved from something you once only saw on a screen to something happening on your own street – and whether society has truly learned anything since the 80s.

Danny Beard and Luke Mallinder

Performer and presenter Danny Beard is paired with Luke Mallinder, a straight mechanical engineer from Birkenhead. Their conversation digs into why men behave so differently in groups, what masculinity actually means, and whether the tolerance some people display is as genuine as it appears.

The first film in the three-part Tip Toe or Ta-Da series launches on Monday 8 June on Attitude’s YouTube channel and social platforms, with episode two going live on 11 June and episode three on 15 June. Stream Tip Toe on Channel 4 now.
