The metabolism of fat

PROMOTIONAL FEATURE
In order to lose that stubborn fat before summer is upon us, you must ensure you’re aware of one vital thing – metabolism. Your metabolism – or metabolic rate – is the rate at which your body expends energy (calories), with fat being a primary energy source, it becomes clear to see why having a high metabolic rate is important for weight loss and attaining that lean, athletic physique.
Exercising is the best way to induce a spike to your metabolism. Exercising requires numerous muscle cells in the body to go into overdrive to keep the body functioning. In order for this to happen, the cells require energy such as fat. The by-product of this reaction is heat, hence all the sweat!
A less obvious way to boost metabolism is by eating. Often when people diet they dramatically restrict their calorie consumption. This puts the body in starvation mode and consequently reduces your metabolism and slows down the fat burning process. So instead of restricting yourself from food, ensure you eat 4-6 smaller meals each day consisting of lean protein and low glycaemic index carbohydrates, such as sweet potato and quinoa.
There are also some natural weight loss supplements available on the market, which have been proven to be both safe and very effective. Such products combine natural ingredients such as green tea and guarana, which stimulates the central nervous system, leading to an increased metabolic rate.
