HOW TO: Dress for Fashion Week in association with StylePilot

It’s that time of the season again – menswear shows. The Attitude fashion team and StylePilot are here to guide you through the key looks you need to master. Who knew three days could be so stressful?…
The sartorial element has always been integral to menswear fashion shows, with heritage brands such as Hackett and Richard James producing an array of suiting. Navy is a popular colour right now, which modernises the usual black. If you’re feeling more gregarious, go for a brighter colour. You might not want to go the full tailoring hog, so a simple pair of brightly- coloured trousers are enough to make a statement waiting in line for a show. Pair it with a something simple, a shirt, polo or plain crew neck tee- no frills fuss.

You may be hungover from one of the many parties that ply you with free booze and opportunities to scout a celeb or two, but you need to be up and fresh for the early morning shows. Black never goes out of fashion for a reason – it’s hard to put a foot wrong with the stuff – it hides a multitude of sins and is flattering. Hidden behind your sunglasses, you can hold on to looking the epitome of chic, even if you don’t feel like it.

You’ve picked your clothes meticulously, so don’t let yourself down with the final touches. Whether you are opting for a suit or a something more casual, you should be thinking about your footwear. A monk strap for formal dress or a running trainer are both still going strong in footwear trends. You’re going to be on your feet all day, running from show to show, so make sure you break them in first. (It’s going to be a long, but fabulous day and the pain will only probably stop when you’ve had your 5th fashion cocktail of the day)
