Gay country singer Steve Grand’s debut album delayed

Out gay country singer Steve Grand has announced his debut album has been delayed.

The upcoming album was originally due for release this month (May)  but has now been pushed back to “late summer” at the earliest.

Grand, a former underwear model, released his gay-themed debut single All-American Boy last summer (2013) and saw the video go viral – it has now notched up nearly 3.1m views on YouTube.

In a statement to fans on Facebook yesterday (May 16), the singer wrote:

“Regarding the release date of the album, its going to be a little later than I initially anticipated (looking at late summer? but at this point it is still hard to say. I will keep you all updated as often as I can). From day one, I have promised to only give you my best, most honest work, and I intend to uphold that promise even if it means delaying the release of the record to make sure I get it just right.”

Grand raised over $325,000 (£193,000) from fans after launching a Kickstarter campaign to fund his debut album in February. Watch the video for All-American Boy below:
