Five great Grammys performances from recent years

By Josh Haggis

With memorable performances from the likes of Katy Perry, Beyoncé and a mass wedding ceremony featuring Madonna, this year’s Grammys have been nothing short of fantastic. We loved them so much, in fact, that we decided to take a look back at some of our favourite performances from the last 15 years of the world’s greatest music awards. Enjoy!

Christina Aguilera, Mya, P!nk and Lil’ Kim – Lady Marmalade (2002)

One of the campest performances in Grammys history – even before the surprise appearance from Patti LaBelle. Really, what more could you want from a Grammys performance?

Madonna – Feel Good Inc/Hung Up(2006)

On paper, Madge pairing up with indie-pop group Gorillaz might seem like an odd match, but somehow she managed to pull it off. At a time when she was enjoying yet another shit hot phase, the Queen of Pop Madonna proved once again why she’s managed to stay at the top of the music industry for decades.

Christina Aguilera – It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World (2007)

Back in 2007, Christina proved what a truly power-house vocalist she was with a stunning rendition of James Brown’s soul classic.

Pink – Glitter in the Air (2010)

An often underrated popstar, P!nk wowed critics with this spectacular acrobatic performance, showing she has more to offer than feisty break-up anthems.

Britney – From The Bottom of My Broken Heart/Baby One More Time (2000)

Britney? Singing live? It can’t be! The legendary Miss Britney Spears has been snubbed often by the Grammys, winning just one award in her 15-year career. This is her only performance at the ceremony, and thankfully it was a memorable one.
