First Look: Diesel Black Gold SS16

By Joseph Kocharian

Diesel Black Gold’s  Spring Summer ’16 catwalk took us all on an urban safari, with Andreas Melbostad relocating it to a metropolitan and industrial location. There was plenty of great outwear including bombers and parkas with plenty of survival nuances such as pockets, adjustable detailing and oversized fits to enable you to layer up accordingly. There was definite function in this collection, with a big focus on wearable layers.

We’ve come to expect a lot of scope from Diesel Black Gold and sure enough, we were treated to plenty of industrial bells and whistles, whether it was coated jeans, patches and stitches on  trousers or adjustable outerwear. Leather jackets had lace-up details and embellishments that were mixed with plenty of layers that peeked through each look. Among the stormy palette of black, inky blues, grey and white there were injections of metallics (with another survival jacket nod) and shiny trousers that, along with the supremely detailed leather jackets, brought the collection the edge we’d expect. The boys braved the storm with windswept and wet hair, but they were ready for the elements:
