Dolly Parton: ‘I’m planning a dance album’
By Nick Levine
Dolly Parton has revealed that she is planning to record a dance album.
The country legend took part in a Twitter Q&A this evening (April 27), and was asked by a fan: “Is there any other genre of music you’d like to do a crossover album on?”
“I do hope to do a dance album,” she replied. “Been planning on that for a long time… :)”
Parton previously experimented with disco on her classic 1978 single Baby I’m Burning.
During the Q&A, Parton also revealed that she is hoping to make several guest appearances in Grace and Frankie, the upcoming Netflix series starring her 9 to 5 castmates Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin.
“I do hope to be on that! Hopefully, more than once!” she told a fan.
Meanwhile, Dolly Parton is due to release her 42nd studio album, Blue Smoke, in the UK on May 13.
She will support the album with a UK and Ireland tour in June, including her eagerly-anticipated set at this year’s Glastonbury festival on June 29.
