The Met Gala’s most memorable recent lewks and serves

The Met Gala 2020 might be on ice, but we'll always have the memories.

By Sacha Dance

Usually on this date in May, whilst the A-listers are nursing some sore heads and sore feet, we’d be bringing you the round up of lewks and serves from the Met Gala from the night before.

Given current global circumstances and the postponement of this year’s event, that’s not possible this year – but that’s certainly not going to stop us bringing you some of the event’s most memorable recent (and not-so-recent) high fashion moments.

BILLY PORTER – 2019

The King of the Red Carpet, Billy Porter, always knows how to steal the show. Bonus points were accumulated last year for being carried in by hot, oiled, shirtless men (very Mariah Carey just popping to the shops).

AQUARIA – 2019

Officially the Attitude Fashion Team’s favourite RuPaul look queen. Aquaria’s 2019 get-up – including hair and make-up – was 10s,10s 10s across the board.

LAVERNE COX – 2019

Last year’s Met Gala theme of ‘camp’ gave us so many great moments, inlcuding this one from former Attitude cover star and Attitude Award winner Laverne Cox.

RIHANNA – 2018

Bad Gal Rih-Rih is always our best dressed pop star, any year, any time. We’re missing her annual Met Gala moment most of all.

CODY FERN – 2019

A total serve from the American Horror Story star from head-to-toe. Case closed. And no, we won’t be taking anymore questions at this time.

VIOLET CHACHKI – 2019

Violet made herstory with Mama Ru and Aquaria as the first drag queens to walk the Met Gala red carpet last year. It couldn’t have been anyone else, in our opinon.

JANELLE MONAE – 2019

Janelle delivered major Joan Collins in Dynasty meets Picasso vibes with this look, so naturally we absolutely adore it.

 MADONNA – 2018

The Queen of pop should always be wearing a crown. Add it to your rider, Madge.

KATY PERRY – 2019

Katy Perry as a Moschino chandelier. That’s it, that the post.

LENA WAITHE – 2019

It’s important to know you’re history, and the Westworld actor’s suit ensured fans knew it, with the words ‘black drag queens invented camp’ emroidered on the back of her glorious suit jacket.

CHER – 1974

An oldie but a goodie (the outfit, not Cher! How very dare you).

TROYE SIVAN – 2018

Simple, chic and sheer. Former Attitude cover star Troye always knows our taste.
