A white supremacist has been arrested after planning to plant bombs in a synagogue and gay bars in Nevada.
Conor Climo – a 23-year-old security guard – was arrested and charged with possession of an unregistered firearm after it was discovered he had components for an improvised explosive device in his home.
During an investigation by the FBI-led Joint Terrorism Task Force, they found that he had used ‘derogatory racial, anti-Semitic and homosexual slurs’ online as well as revealing potential targets near Las Vegas.
These locations included synagogues and an area downtown with gay bars and the headquarters for the Anti-Defamation League, according to Buzzfeed News.
The investigation began after Climo was found to be communicating with the far-right, extremist group Atomwaffen Division – the same group which trained a man to stab a gay man 20 times in August 2018.
Climo faces 10 years in federal prison and a $25,000 fine if convicted.
