Disco diva and gay icon Patti LaBelle has welcomed singing superfan James Wright into her home for Thanksgiving, where the pair have shared some of her infamous sweet potato pie.

Posting to Facebook, Wright said it had been the “best Thanksgiving ever and it’s also been the best birthday ever.”

“I’m very, very grateful. And at this point in my life I’m kind of speechless but we serve an awesome God – a God that can change your life around in less than a second,” he said.

“I seek Him so I can be more and more like Him daily. Like I always say when I’m done the whole world is going to be smiling. Thank you Ms. Patti Labelle.”

The invitation followed an absolutely epic review of LaBelle’s sweet potato pie, which Wright posted onto his Youtube channel two weeks ago, reports Gay Star News.

Receiving over 3.7 million views, the video review has led to taste tests across the US on The Today Show, The Talk, and countless other individual video reviews which have been uploaded to Youtube.

Grammy award-winning LaBelle, who has many devoted and loyal gay fans, had initially called Wright to thank him for his video.

But the Lady Marmalade singer then asked the Los Angeles-based entertainer to her home in Philadelphia for Thanksgiving, which also happened to fall on Wright’s birthday.

After singing Wright a birthday song, LaBelle gave him a Louis Vuitton duffel bag as a gift, saying, “he is going to be a world traveler.”

“God has brought another baby angel into my life,” she added.

WalMart, where the pies are sold exclusively, have reportedly been unable to keep up with customer demand.
