Two men attacked after men allegedly didn’t like what they were wearing

Nikita Ponarin was beaten because he was drinking wine instead of beer in Kiev

Two men were brutally attacked after the men allegedly didn’t like their jeans or because they were drinking wine.

Nikita Ponarin and his friend were walking in Kiev when a group of men allegedly took offence to them and said they didn’t like his septum nose ring, skinny jeans and because he was drinking wine instead of beer.

Ponarin wrote on Facebook: “They started saying to us, ‘Well fags, do you like to ass fuck?’ and then started hitting us.”

Around five or six men attacked the friends over the weekend and Ponarin said one was wearing a balaclava and another pointed a gun at him which left him shaking.

Despite suffering from bruising on his chest and had to get stitches on his head, Ponarin wants to send a message to young people.

He said: “I think it’s important to talk about it. Not for empathy or pity, but for people to know that in 2018 there are still people assaulting other people because of their ‘orientation’.

“Remember: neither your orientation nor your manner of behaviour nor what your drink/love/wear/watch/respect/do is something for others to give a fuck about.

“None of this makes you the worst person and in no way is not an excuse for violence. You’re not your fault.”

However, he also went on to say how he is moving away from the Ukraine capital and said: “We’re moving out of town. I liked Kiev, despite all the difficulties.

“Rest assured, I won’t give up.”
