Tom Daley: ‘I have no concerns about competing in Russia’

Tom Daley has said that he has “no concerns” about competing in Russia.

The 2015 World Aquatics Championships – at which Daley is training to compete – are due to take place in the Russian City of Kazan next summer.

“I have no concerns whatsoever about going to Russia,” Daley said, according to Reuters. “I’ve been there five, six times before and never had any problems.”

Daley, who won a gold medal at this year’s Commonwealth Games, continued: “You go there to dive, you don’t go there thinking about doing anything other than that. For me, I wouldn’t go there thinking ‘oh, I’m going to do this’ or ‘I have to do this’. I just go there and focus on my performance.”
