Sugababes star Mutya Buena has been declared bankrupt

Popstar Mutya Buena has been declared bankrupt by a High Court Judge.
The 29-year-old singer, one of the three original members of Sugababes, has blamed an “administrative error” for her alleged unpaid tax payments, reports The Sun.
According to paperwork filed with Companies House, Buena’s company God Made Me Funky only made a profit of £902 in March 2013 and she apparently owes the firm a total of £22,500.
Meanwhile, The Sacred Three Limited – another company owned by the singer – is said to be almost £10,000 in debt.
Buena performed with Sugababes from their inception in 1998 until she left the group in 2005, releasing four albums with the group. During her time as a band member, she notched up four UK Number Ones with Freak Like Me, Round Round, Hole in the Head and Push the Button.
In 2007, she released her debut solo album, Real Girl, which contained the Brit-nominated hit title track and her Groove Armada collaboration, Song 4 Mutya (Out of Control). She went on to reunite with her fellow original members of Sugababes, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy, in 2012 – as a trio known as Mutya Keisha Siobhan (MKS).
MKS have only released one single to date, Flatline, which stalled at Number 50 on the UK’s Official Singles Chart in September 2013.
Amelle Berrabah, who replaced Buena in Sugababes when she left in 2005, recently said that she wouldn’t mind if MKS took back the Sugababes name – find out more here.
