SH:24 home STI testing being trialed in South London

By Ben Kelly

SH:24 is trialing a new sexual health, home testing scheme in South London. Residents of Lambeth and Southwark are able to apply for the kit, which tests for chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis and HIV. If the scheme is successful, it could be expanded across the country.

People who apply for the scheme will receive a test kit to their home, in a plain envelope. Every test kit has to be sent back to the lab for analysis. There’s a blue freepost return envelope included. Your details will not appear on any of the samples or the freepost envelope, as SH:24 is completely confidential.

SH:24 will keep you updated by text message – sending you one when your test kit has been dispatched and when the lab receives your samples. They will text you your test results as soon as possible – always within 7 days. If you do have an infection, they will advise you of how to get treatment and further support.

Visit the SH:24 website to find out more about the scheme.
