Rylan Clark has told fans and followers that he is “on the mend” after an “extended” stay in hospital recently.

Posting an image to his Twitter account on Friday (11 February) of his arm with an IV drip attached, the TV host also said he would be taking a break from his BBC Radio Two presenting duties for the weekend while he rests. He hasn’t confirmed the reason for his stay in hospital.

Last year, Rylan, 33, and his former partner, Dan Neal, announced they were divorcing after separating earlier.

“Slowly on the mend”

Accompany the photo of him in hospital Rylan said: “Finally home after an extended trip to Costa del hospital. Slowly on the mend. Won’t be on the wireless tomorrow. Resting up. Be back soon.”

In a second tweet, he added, “Picture for ULTIMATE sympathy obvs”

Fans sent their best wishes (as do we) to the It Takes Two presenter.

He then posted a short clip of himself from Celebrity Big Brother in the diary room where he says his hopes are to “just have a lovely day. If I have a row, I have a row. Just have a lovely day.”

In January the TV personality opened up about the impact his divorce had, telling The Guardian that: “It got bad. Like, very bad. And I didn’t think it would get better. I needed help.”

He went on to say: “I did not know myself at certain points. I was having thoughts and doing things that made me… fucked up, for want of a better word. I didn’t understand why I was doing that to myself.”

He also confirmed spending time in hospital which he said had been “for safety reasons”.
