The journalist son of Mia Farrow and Woody Allen has publicly acknowledged his sexuality for the first time

Ronan Farrow has come out as “part of the LGBT community”.
The journalist son of Mia Farrow and Woody Allen publicly acknowledged his sexuality for the first time while accepting an award for LGBT advocacy earlier this week.
Farrow, who helped uncover sexual abuse allegations against US film producer Harvey Weinstein last year, paid tribute to the community award by the Point Foundation, which works to support LGBT+ students.
The 30-year-old told the assembled audience in New York: “Being a part of the LGBT community, which recognized that reporting I was doing early on and elevated it, and has been such a stalwart source of support through the sexual assault reporting I did involving survivors who felt equally invisible — that has been an incredible source of strength for me.”
He added: “LGBT people are some of the bravest and most potent change agents and leaders I have encountered, and the most forceful defenders of the vulnerable and voiceless, because they know what it’s like to be there.”
Farrow later thanked the Point Foundation for the accolate on Twitter, writing: “Thank you for the honor and for the important work you do granting scholarships to vulnerable LGBT youth.”
