Romanian newspaper uses image of drag queen in Nazi uniform
The article argues that Christians are now suffering religious discrimination by LGBT campaigners

A Romanian newspaper has caused controversy with an image of a drag queen in Nazi uniform.
The front page of the Romania Libera features the drag weapon donning the Nazi uniform and wearing a rainbow flag on their arm instead of a swastika, with the headline reading: “New LGBTQ order”.
The article argues that Christians are now suffering religious discrimination by pro-LGBT campaigners and comes just weeks before the country prepares for a referendum to change the constitution to define marriage as being between a man and woman.
Homosexuality was decriminalised in the country 22 years ago and as of 2006, all anti-LGBT discrimination is prohibited.
In 2006, Romania was named by Human Rights Watch as one of five countries in the world that had made “exemplary progress in combating rights abuses based on sexual orientation or gender identity.”
Romania is one of the last countries in the EU that doesn’t recognise any form of civil union between people of the same sex.
In the constitution, they define the family dynamic as a freely consented marriage between spouses but never specifies gender.
However, a same-sex couple cannot legally receive state protection as a family.
