Olympic diver Matthew Mitcham gets engaged to his partner Luke Rutherford

Australian diver Matthew Mitcham has got engaged to his partner Luke Rutherford.
The Australian retired Olympic diving champion came out two months prior to winning the gold medal at the Beijing Olympics in 2008, but revealed last year he was worried he would have been “isolated and rejected” in his home country.
But now, Mitcham – who moved to Oxfordshire with his British boyfriend this year – has revealed the couple are set to exchange vows after Rutherford got down on ‘two knees’ to pop the question.
Taking to Instagram, Mitcham joked: “He got down on both knees, I said yes, and now we’re engaged.”
The couple met through mutual friends and have been together for nearly seven months.
