By Fabio Crispim

One person has been killed and three others injured after a gunman opened fire at The Rocks Bar on Thanksgiving Day.

Police were called to the popular gay bar in Albany, New York, at 2 am on Thursday morning (November 24) after four people, two males and two females, had been shot and one of them, fatally.

LGBTQ Nation reports that one of the victims died of his injuries at Albany Medical Centre while the others are expected to survive.

Reports suggest that one person has been taken into custody and police have stated that the bar wasn’t targeted and was it was an “isolated incident”.

Spokesman for the Albany Police Department Steve Smith said, “The one thing was want to let members of our community members know, especially the members of our LGBT community know that this is not a random act, this bar was not targeted for any specific reason.”

A Thanksgiving Day event was scheduled for Thursday and, despite the shooting, the bar went ahead with their plans.
