Mother disowns son for being gay, and her own father responds in the best possible way

“So, while we are in the business of disowning our children, I think I’ll take this moment to say goodbye to you"

A mother kicked out her son after he came out to her, and her father responds in the most epic way.

Although we are 2019, the LGBTQ youth still struggle with acceptance from their family and many of them are disowned or kicked out of their own home simply because of their sexuality.

In one case, a young boy named Chad came out to his mother but was not met with the love and caring that any mother should give and was instead kicked out and disowned.

But Chad’s grandfather – his mother’s father – took it upon himself to tell her who the real ‘abomination’ of the family was.

In a powerful, hand-written letter – which originally went viral back in 2013 – Chad’s grandfather tells his own daughter that he is disowning her after the way she reacted to her son’s sexuality.

He wrote: “Dear Christine: I’m disappointed in you as a daughter. You’re correct that we have shame in the family, but mistaken about what it is.

“Kicking Chad out of your home simply because he told you he was gay is the real ‘abomination’ here.

“A parent disowning her child is what goes ‘against nature’.

“The only intelligent thing I heard you saying in all this was that ‘you didn’t raise your son to be gay’. Of course you didn’t.

“He was born this way and didn’t choose it any more than he being left-handed. You, however, have made the choice of being hurtful, narrow-minded and backward.

“So, while we are in the business of disowning our children, I think I’ll take this moment to say goodbye to you.

“I now have a fabulous (as the gay put it) grandson to raise and I don’t have time for heartless B-word of a daughter.

“If you find your heart, give us a call.”

We are not sure whether Chad’s mother finally came to her senses but at least he was surrounded by love from his grandfather.
