Millennials are twice as likely to identify as LGBT

By Fabio Crispim

A new study has found that millennials, aged between 18 and 35, are twice as likely to identify as LGBT compared to adults in other age groups, according to Medical Daily.

The report by the Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) and reveals that 7% of millennials identify as LGBT while only 3.6% of other American adults do.

They looked at millennial responses to different topics including workplace discrimination, contraceptive sex, abortion, sex education and sexual assault and found that millennials believe the best way to prevent pregnancy and STDs are with a combination of contraception and sex education.

Millennials also support laws that protect minority groups from discrimination both inside and outside of the work place.

Researchers are stunned as to why more millennials are identifying as LGBT than other age groups but are certain that new generations will only continue to get more progressive.
