Michelle Visage helps gay teen find shelter after he was kicked out of parents’ house

By Will Stroude

She might have a reputation for being scary, but when push comes to shove Michelle Visage is the fairy godmother we’ve always wanted.

On October 17, RuPaul’s best squirrel-friend came to the rescue of an LGBT teenager when he was thrown out of his home after coming out to his family.

The boy, known as ‘Jake’, asked Michelle to reassure him that life would get better. But she went one step further.

After explaining that he had nowhere else to go, at which point she tweeted to her 290k followers for help. “I need urgent help I [sic] Elizabethtown, KY. LGBT shelter for a kid who came out and was kicked out,” she wrote.

Her followers then began to offer assistance, which Michelle retweeted to her own feed so Jake could see he had help if he needed it.

Jake since made his Twitter profile private, but Michelle reported that the teen spent the night in a safe and secure place.
