Margaret Cho has joined the cast of Tiny Fey’s new US sitcom.

The sitcom, currently untitled, is set in a women’s college that has just admitted its first male students. Cho will play the president of the college, who made the difficult decision to welcome the men and is described as a “divisive figure of campus”, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed.

Starring alongside Cho will be Bonnie Dennison (Third Watch), Brandon Jones (CSI), young Broadway actor Jack Cutmore-Scott and Chelsea Lately‘s Fortune Feimster, all playing students at the rapidly-changing college.

Fey has no plans to star in the show, but will serve as an executive producer alongside regular 30 Rock writer Matt Hubbard. Shooting is due to start in March and the show has a series commitment at US network Fox, whose current sitcoms include New Girl and The Mindy Project.

Cho, a comedian, author and well-known supporter of LGBT rights, currently has a main role in US comedy-drama Drop Dead Diva and has also made guest appearances over the years in 30 Rock, Sex and the City and Ghost Whisperer.
