A man died after allegedly getting into a fight with a bouncer at an LGBTQ-friendly bar in Louisville, Kentucky.
In October 2019, Christopher McKinney, 35, married his husband Nicholas Clark but over the weekend, McKinney was out at Nowhere bar with some friends.
According to reports, McKinney was escorted out of the club for ‘unruly behaviour’ by a bouncer.
The two reportedly got into a fight and when police arrived, McKinney was unresponsive. He was later taken to hospital and died while under medical care.
The Major Crimes Unit is still investigating the tragic death but they’ve said there is no evidence of a hate crime and have withheld the bouncer’s identity. No charges have been filed.
Friend Gus Parks, who was in McKinney’s wedding, told WAVE 3 News: “You never want to lose someone you’ve been best friends with for the majority of your adulthood.
“He’s been a part of my life through my ups and my downs, the good, the bad, the happy, the sad and he brought so much joy to my life and helped me to become a better person.
“He truly, truly cared about people.”
