Lonely Planet has released a digital ‘Guide To Pride’
By Micah Sulit
Want to turn up at a Pride festival and show your support for the LGBT cause while exploring a new place, getting sloshed and maybe even finding your husband? Lonely Planet’s newly released free digital book, Guide to Pride: 20 Cities & Their Celebrations, will definitely come in handy.
The guide features the “biggest, most welcoming and jump-on-a-plane-worthy” Pride festivals across the globe, as well as an overview of the local gay scene. It also lists local experiences that are not to be missed and gay-friendly spots where you can eat and stay.
The 20 cities covered in the book are Amsterdam, Atlanta, Auckland, Berlin, Buenos Aires, Cape Town, Dublin, London, Madrid, Melbourne, New York City, Paris, Puerto Vallarta, Reykjavík, San Francisco, São Paulo, Sydney, Taipei, Toronto and Vancouver.
It’s not strictly for Pride, though: Lonely Planet promises that the destinations and tips in the guide will be useful for LGBT travellers anytime of the year.
Lonely Planet’s Guide to Pride is available exclusively on iBooks.
