LA Galaxy soccer star Robbie Rogers on new ‘Attitude’ cover

Out football star Robbie Rogers appears on the cover of the latest Attitude.
The LA Galaxy player came out in February 2013 and speaks candidly in his 14-page cover feature about his struggle to get to grips with his sexuality in a predominantly heterosexual environment.
On being a closeted gay footballer, 26-year-old Rogers says: “Definitely in my career there were so many times when I struggled with my mental health. That affected the way I played.”
Later in the interview, he admits: “25 years of self-hate doesn’t go away just because you come out.”
