Joe Exotic has spoken out after a stretch limo he booked in anticipation of a presidential pardon from Donald Trump left without him.

The eccentric zookeeper, who shot to fame on last year’s Netflix series Tiger King, is currently serving a 22-year sentence in federal prison.

Outgoing US President Trump released his list of presidential pardons yesterday – among them, rapper Lil Wayne – before being replaced by Democrat Joe Biden in the White House.

“Too innocent and too gay”

Upon discovering he had been denied clemency, Exotic tweeted: “I was too innocent and too GAY to deserve a Pardon from Trump.

“I only mattered to Don Jr. [Trump’s son] when he needed to make a comment about me to boost his social media post. Boy were we all stupid to believe he actually stood for Equal Justice? His corrupt friends all come first.”

Exotic’s tweet followed reports of a stretch limo parked in a parking lot outside his lawyer’s office, by a poster that read ‘pardon Joe Exotic’ that ultimately went unused.

Exotic – real name Joseph Maldonado-Passage – was convicted last April on two counts of murder-for-hire, eight counts of violating the Lacey Act for falsifying wildlife records and nine counts of violating the Endangered Species Act, the NYT reported at the time.
