Joan Rivers: “Obama is gay, Michelle is a ‘tranny'”

Joan Rivers has joked that US president Barack Obama is gay, and his wife Michelle is transgender.
The notoriously controversial 81-year-old comedian officiated a surprise gay wedding at a book signing in New York City earlier this week, and was asked by a reporter yesterday (July 3) whether she plans on turning gay wedding officiation into a career sideline.
“I’m so excited, I should do very well because I do not charge,” she told the reporter.
Rivers was then asked for her thoughts on when the US will get its first gay or female president, to which she replied: “We already have that with Obama, so let’s just calm down… and you know Michelle is a tranny.”
Confused by Rivers’ comments, the reporter said in response: “I’m sorry, she’s a what?”
The comedian then reiterated her comments, saying: “A transgender – we all know. It’s OK, you know.”
