Hillary Clinton visits Pulse nightclub

By Fabio Crispim

Hillary Clinton visits the site of Orlando shooting one month after 49 clubbers at Pulse were killed in an anti-LGBT terrorist attack.

According to the Orlando sentinel, Clinton privately met with the friends and family of the victims and laid a bouquet of flowers at the memorial before speaking to Orlando Mayor, Buddy Dyer, and Senator Bill Nelson.

During a roundtable meeting later in the day, Clinton promised to “promote the kinds of changes that will prevent this from happening to other people, other families and other communities.”

She said, “The Latino LGBT community, by any measure, is the community that was most severely impacted by this terrible attack. What does that mean? Well among other things, it means that it is still dangerous to be LGBT in America.”

“We have to be willing to stand as one and demand changes from lawmakers at the federal, state and local level… We have a lot of work ahead of us.”

Mayor Buddy Dyer led the roundtable meeting and said, “We need to better understand how we come together, that we are stronger when we appreciate the similarities that we have and don’t focus on the differences.”
