George Michael is out of hospital and ‘resting’ at home

George Michael has been discharged from hospital and is currently resting at home, a representative for the singer has confirmed.
The Faith singer was admitted to hospital last week, it was reported in the press yesterday (May 29), after he was said to have collapsed at this home in North London.
Michael, 50, has suffered a number of well-publicised health problems in the past. Last year, he cancelled a string of dates at London’s Royal Albert Hall due to a viral infection, and in 2011 he almost died after contracting pneumonia.
Responding to yesterday’s news reports, a spokesperson for the star told the press:
“In response to newspaper reports today we can confirm George was admitted to hospital on 22nd May. He was discharged last weekend and is well and resting. He is very much looking forward to the release of his new single in July.”
The statement continued: “Given the personal nature of this matter there will be no further comment.”
Earlier this year, Michael scored his seventh number one album in the UK with his latest effort, Symphonica.
